Little Carrots

I’m so excited! My second crop of radishes are ready and the little carrots are ready to pull!

I remember my grandparents vegetable garden; it seemed to take up their whole back yard. Rows of corn, potatoes, pole beans, onions and carrots!

Grandpa would take my brothers and I out to the garden to “help” gather some veggies to take home.  It was like magic to us that growing under the feathery green tops were delicious crisp little carrots.  Grandpa would pull 3 or 4 for each of us and rinse them off at the garden hose. We would eagerly gobble them down asking for more!

Funny, Mom had a hard time getting us kids to eat our carrots at the dinner table; I guess they tasted way better right out of the ground seasoned with a bit of dirt.

  1. Awe, cute little carrots! I too would not eat (store bought) carrots at the table. Fresh from the ground is much better. Yours look nummy!

    • They were very tasty! I’m taking some to Grandma this weekend; I know she’ll enjoy them.
