“Sealed” with a Kiss

My husband and I are usually in a hurry to get home  after a weekend away, and therfore we usually drive theVancouver Island inland highway; a faster yet boring route.  However, it was a nice day so we decided to take the slower yet more scenic route along the water.

As we were passing through Fanny Bay, we could see the Stellar sea lions had hauled themselves out of the water and onto some log booms and floats in the bay.

These two were having what seemed to be a lover’s quarrel; lots of barking and snarling.  However, it appeared to be over as quickly as it started. Isn’t it amazing what one kiss will do?

Waterlily

The late afternoon light was reflecting off the house creating a soft  halo of light on the lily.

Swimmer

SwimmerOne of my favourite places to photograph  on the north island is the Cluxewe River estuary.

Usually I see swans, Canada geese and a variety of ducks. however, on this trip I saw this deer paddling down the river.

Frosted Fire

Frosted FireI love clear cold winter days!

The morning sun back lighting the fern fronds made them look like flames jumping out of the “blue”

Frosted Gold

Frosted GoldI was driving the logging road that parallels the highway near the Cluxewe River and came upon this beautiful scene.

The banks of this creek were thick with frost which  accentuated the morning sun reflecting on the water.
